Biographies of E.P.A. Booth 74 Staff
Ron Carleton joined E.P.A. as the Counselor to the Administrator for Agricultural Policy in January 2015. Prior to his appointment at EPA, Carleton served as Deputy Commissioner at the Colorado Department of Agriculture. His work as Deputy Commissioner focused on climate issues, environmental regulations, food safety, industrial hemp regulations, agricultural education, and the Farm Bill. Carleton also worked for in excess of 30 years in the U.S. Congress, where he handled variety of legislative issues, including agriculture, energy, environment, water, and land management issues. His most recent Congressional experience was as Chief of Staff to then Colorado Congressman John Salazar. Carleton holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Houston, a master's degree from the American University, and a law degree from George Mason University of School of Law. He is a member of Virginia State Bar.
Mark Hague serves as the Regional Administrator for E.P.A. Region 7, which consists of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and 9 tribal nations. He is responsible for overseeing the overall operations within the region, and the implementation of federal environmental rules and regulations. Hague has 35 years of experience with EPA. He began his career at E.P.A. headquarters in Washington, D.C., in 1980. Hague has served Region seven in a variety of leadership roles, which have included Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA), Director of the Enforcement Coordination Office, as well as Acting Assistant Regional Administrator for the Office of Policy and Management. Hague graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in May 1980 with a degree in political science/public administration.
Kris Lancaster is an E.P.A. spokesperson responsible for agriculture, pesticides, renewable fuels, water, and regulatory issues impacting agribusiness. His past agricultural employment includes serving as a licensed grain inspector, agricultural advisor to the chairman of the Missouri House Agriculture Committee and to 2 members of Congress, a farm real estate broker, a federal crop insurance broker, and a negotiator of agricultural leases for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His family owns a corn and soybean farm in Scotland County, Mo. Lancaster has 3 decades of media relations experience and serves on Region 7's Agriculture Team. He is a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri and completed an advanced sciences plan at Park University.
